Translate product descriptions in bulk
Drop your catalogue export as CSV or Excel and get every title and description back in another language, with prices and SKUs untouched.
Don't upload confidential documents on the free tier. Why?
Selling in a new country starts with product listings in the local language, and translating hundreds of products one by one isn't realistic. Export your catalogue as CSV or Excel from your shop or marketplace, drop it here and DropTranslate translates the text cells while prices, SKUs, stock levels and the column structure stay as they are. You get a file you can review in a spreadsheet and, after a quick check of the header row, import back. It is a fast first pass that you can then refine for the products that sell best.
Check marketplace and labelling rules
Marketplaces and countries can have rules about product information, labelling and safety texts in the local language. A translation doesn't check your listings against those rules. Review regulated information, such as ingredients, safety warnings and claims, with someone who knows the market.
Good for
- Translating titles, descriptions and attributes for a whole catalogue at once
- Preparing listings for a marketplace in another country
- Translating size guides and product specification sheets
Before you translate
- Restore the original header row if your shop's import expects fixed column names.
- Check sizes, units and measurements; customers in some countries expect different units.
- Search terms differ by market. Adjust titles for the words local shoppers actually use.
- Brand names and model names should stay as they are; check they weren't translated.
Questions
Will my prices and SKUs change?
No. Numbers and codes are left as they are. Only text cells are translated.
Can I import the file straight back?
Usually yes, after restoring the original header row if your import needs it. The columns, separators and row count stay the same.
Do HTML tags in descriptions survive?
Markup inside CSV cells is part of the cell text. Check a few descriptions with HTML formatting in the result before importing.
