How we handle your files
When you drop a file, it is uploaded to our server so it can be translated. The upload is stored encrypted, with a separate key for each job, and is deleted as soon as the translation is finished.
We keep only the translated file, so you can download it. Signed-in users can re-download it from History for 7 days. Without an account, it is kept for 24 hours. After that, the file is deleted automatically.
Deleting your files
Press Delete now on the result screen or in History to remove a translated file immediately. History then keeps only the file name, the languages, the page count and the date, so the list stays useful. If you delete your account, we delete your History and any files that are still stored.
Who translates the text
Your text is translated by a third-party AI provider. The provider may use submitted content to improve its models, and your text is not processed under a zero data retention agreement.
This is a real limit for business, legal, medical and personal documents. Please don't upload confidential documents. If you need to translate something sensitive, remove names, account numbers and other personal details you don't need translated first, or translate only the parts you need.
Logs and analytics
For each translation we log technical details: the job ID, the model, the number of tokens, the time it took and whether it worked. These logs never contain the text of your documents.
Analytics count page views and simple events, such as a translation being started. They never receive your files or their text.
Accounts and credits
You can use DropTranslate without an account. If you sign up, we store your email address (used for the sign-in link) and a record of your credits. Paid plans are not available yet, so we don't collect any payment details.
