Translate a PowerPoint presentation
Drop a .pptx deck and get it back in another language, with the same slides, theme and images.
Don't upload confidential documents on the free tier. Why?
Rebuilding a deck slide by slide in another language takes hours, and copying text in and out of a translator loses the formatting. DropTranslate opens the presentation and translates the text inside it: titles, bullet points, text boxes and tables. The theme, images, shapes and slide order stay as they are. The one thing to plan for is length. A slide written tightly in English can overflow when the text becomes German, French or Russian, so expect to nudge a few text boxes or let PowerPoint shrink text on overflow.
How it works
Drop the .pptx
We count the words on your slides and show the credit cost before you confirm.
Pick the language
Choose one of 60 target languages; the source is detected for you.
Download the deck
Open it in PowerPoint, Keynote or Google Slides and check slides where the text got longer.
What changes, what stays
Translated
- Slide titles, bullet points and text boxes
- Text in tables and shapes
Kept as-is
- Theme, fonts, colours and slide layouts
- Images, icons, videos and the order of slides
- Words that are part of an image
Layout: High: design kept, watch text length
Slides keep their design because only the words change. Text boxes don't grow by themselves, so a longer translation can overflow a box or a shape. Check the busiest slides after translating.
- Right-to-left targets (Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu) get right-to-left text direction in text boxes. The slide layout itself isn't mirrored, so you may want to move images to the other side.
- Text inside images, screenshots and logos isn't translated.
- Older .ppt files aren't supported yet. Save them as .pptx first.
- Limits: 50 MB and 100,000 words per file.
Tips
- In PowerPoint, the AutoFit option Shrink text on overflow handles most overflowing boxes in one go.
- Short labels such as button text or chart callouts can become much longer; check them first.
- If your fonts don't cover the target alphabet, PowerPoint swaps in a fallback font. Choose a font that supports the language if the look matters.
Not a certified translation
Machine translation, not a certified or sworn translation. If your document goes to an authority, check what it requires first.

Questions
Will my slide design change?
No. The theme, images and layout stay as they are, and only the text changes. If a translation is longer, it can overflow its box, which you can fix by resizing the box or letting PowerPoint shrink the text.
How are credits counted for presentations?
By the words on your slides: a credit covers up to 500 words. The exact total is shown after you drop the file and before you confirm.
Does it work with Google Slides or Keynote?
Export the presentation as .pptx (both apps can), translate it here, then import the result back.
Can I translate a .ppt file?
Not yet. Open it in PowerPoint or LibreOffice Impress and save it as .pptx first.
