Don't upload confidential documents on the free tier. Why?

A press release or newsletter often needs to go out in several languages on the same day. DropTranslate translates the Word document or HTML email template you already have, keeping headings, bold text, links and the layout, so each language version is ready to review instead of rebuild. It is equally useful for reading coverage, announcements or newsletters from other countries. As with any public text, have a native speaker read it before it goes out, particularly the headline and the quotes.

Public text needs a final read

Anything you publish represents you. Machine translation gets the meaning across, but a native speaker should check the headline, quotes and any claims before the text goes out.

Good for

  • Same-day language versions of press releases and announcements
  • Translating HTML newsletter templates without breaking them
  • Reading foreign press coverage and partner announcements

Before you translate

  • Quotes attributed to a person should be approved by that person in the new language.
  • Check names, titles, dates and figures against the original.
  • Email templates: check merge fields such as {{first_name}} are unchanged.
  • Have a native speaker review headlines before sending.

Questions

Will links in my newsletter still work?

Yes. In HTML files only the visible text is translated; link URLs, tags and styles stay the same.

Can I translate into several languages at once?

Run the file once per language. Signed-in users can upload up to 10 files at a time.

Is alt text translated?

Not in HTML files in this version. Translate image alt text by hand.
