Don't upload confidential documents on the free tier. Why?

Teachers, trainers and course creators often need the same material in more than one language: for international students, for new arrivals still learning the local language, or to sell a course in a new market. DropTranslate handles the files a course is made of. PowerPoint slides keep their design, Word worksheets keep their tables and spaces for answers, and SRT or VTT subtitles for your videos keep their timing. You get a complete first version of the course in the new language, ready for review.

Review before you teach with it

Machine translation is a strong first draft for teaching material, but terminology and examples can need adapting. Have a teacher or subject expert who speaks the target language review the material, especially tests and anything that is graded.

Good for

  • Translating lesson slides and handouts for students in another language
  • Adding subtitle tracks in new languages to course videos
  • Helping parents and new arrivals follow what is being taught

Before you translate

  • Check subject terminology against the terms used in the target country's curriculum.
  • Exercises built on wordplay, spelling or grammar of the original language need rewriting, not translating.
  • Have a teacher who speaks the target language review assessments and tests.
